| How to Reinstall SystemSafe |
1) In the event SystemSafe stops working properly or you want to transfer your SystemSafe account to a new computer,
please uninstall any older version of SystemSafe before attempting the new install. Before you begin, write down your current account number and encryption key. You can find your account number by opening SystemSafe and selecting the "Home" tab. Your account number is by your name. To see your encryption key go to Options -> Security -> View Encryption Key. The encryption key is case sensitive.
Now that you have your account information handy, the uninstall process is done through
the normal Windows uninstall procedure accessed from the Control Panel:
| a)
Go to Start -> Settings -> Control Panel |
| b)
Select Add/Remove Programs |
| c)
Select SystemSafe Online Backup from the
list |
| d)
When prompted, select Automatic |
|
2)
Now that you have uninstalled your older version of SystemSafe, you will need to download the latest
SystemSafe installer from our website.
|
 |
|
3) Install
SystemSafe Online Backup
| a)
Select "Run this program form its current location"
(see image at top right) or you can "save it to disk" and install it
from the saved location. Most users choose "Run this program..." |
| b)
As part of the installation wizard, the installer
will ask you to select a service plan. In this case, the
service plan you choose is not important
as a reinstall will connect you back to your
original service plan. |
|
 |
|
4)
Once installation is done, the program will run and ask
you to register your account. The first screen of the registration
wizard has a check box asking if you want to reattach
to a previously registered account.
| a)
Select this box and continue |
| b)
Enter your account number |
| c)
Enter your encryption key |
| d)
SystemSafe has the ability to allow customers to
set a password on their account. This password is
not required and is separate from the encryption
key you must choose during installation. Unless
you perform specific steps to set a password, you
will not be assigned a password. Therefore, most
customers should leave this field blank. |
Note: If
you are having problems with accessing your SystemSafe
Online Backup account after recently downloading and
reinstalling the software, please take note:
